and Mother Earth"  Belly
Dancer, Dana "FELICE," was born in Los Angeles, and was introduced to dance at
a young age. Her Family loved to dance around the house and she and her sister
were all involved in dance in and out of school. "Felice" studied Gymnastics and
modem Dance in school for 10 years.
When
she was 9, she saw a belly dancer at the Renaissance Fair. It was there where
she discovered the beauty of the dance. It wasn't until art school at age 18 that
she met her best friend who was taking belly dance classes in LA. Her friend purchased
some Zills or Cymbals for her birthday, so that she would attend this class with
her. She fell passionately in love with this dance at first sight. When she heard
the exotic rhythms and danced the sensual female moves, her body and mind relaxed.
She realized that this was an art form so unique that everyone must do it. It
was love at first dance. FELICE has been
traveling Internationally with Persian Dance / Belly Dance troupes for many years
from Canada to Europe. Her Studies for the last 15 years have been in the Middle
Eastern dance forms - everything from Raks al Sharqi (Solo Egyptian), Turkish,
Persian, Moroccan style, and Dubkee. Her teachers have been Greek, Lebanese, Iranian
and Egyptian. She studied in LA. as well as New York with lbraham Farrad and Nadia
Gamel. She has performed in many concerts, videos, weddings, parties, and night
clubs around the world. She believes that belly dancing encourages each dancer
to celebrate her personal inner beauty. It nourishes your soul. "When
I belly dance, it allows me time to travel inside, experiment with inner beauty,
feel passionate, feel free. I love it! When we dance we relate to ancient archetypes
in history, we recognize the gods and give them thanks for all our gifts. It is
primal and powerful, yet textured and hypnotic." Felice
teaches bellydancing at her home studio in Eagle Rock, California, near Pasadena
