An Anthology
of Goddess Poetry As part of the Goddess 2000 project, the Temple of Isis Los Angeles sponsored an anthology of goddess-oriented poetry. Poet Denise Dumars served as editor of the project. The anthology was published in April 2000 and poetry readings were held in conjunction with other Goddess 2000 events. Front cover illustration: Isis Unveiling, by Keith Drosin "I envision ISIS RISING as a document of women's spirituality, an affirmation that the Goddess is again among us (as if she ever left!) and a testament to the power of the Goddess, her myths and legends, to inspire both men and women, both writers and artists. I would like this volume to help fulfill the mission of the Goddes 2000 Project: 'A Goddess on every block.' I hope you will enjoy ISIS RISING. It was conceived out of love for the Goddess, but it is dedicated to YOU, the reader." Em hotep, Dion-Isis (Denise Dumars). "ISIS RISING; THE GODDESS IN THE NEW AEON is one of the finest of today's collections heralding the present era of rising Goddess spirituality. The writings in this book speak of the proud Goddess-power that transcends the aeons, now being triumphantly reborn among today's women. It speaks similarly to the men who have long felt a deep, unconscious hunger for Her magnificence. The poetry ranges from deep introspection to bold statements of female personal individuality to powerful chants of magical invocation, calling on the Goddess from times far past to the present and even the future, representing a wide variety of lands and cultures. ... This book is very memorable indeed. With such moving and heartfelt passages in these pages, the Goddess is truly returning in Her mists of magic and beauty!" -- Ed Fitch, author of Magical Rites from the Crystal Well and A Grimoire of Shadows.
