She began her career with Master teacher Feiruz Aram in Long Beach, California during the 70’s. She studied with Angelika Nemeth while Feiruz was performing and studying in Cairo. When Feiruz returned, Katerina taught classes at her dance studio and became a part of her troupe, the Chandrika Dancers.

After moving to Orange County, she taught classes in Fullerton while studying jazz at Fullerton college. She became certified to teach Jacki Sorensen’s Aerobic Dancing which she did for 6 years while continuing to perform with the Chandrika Dancers.

In the early 90’s Katerina moved to Temecula in Riverside County. She began to teach belly dancing for the City of Temecula. She formed a student troupe to encourage her students to increase their proficiency. The troupe performed in San Diego events as well as those in Riverside and Los Angeles counties.

Today with her troupe members numbering around 12, she directs them in 5 or 6 performances a year. Many of her former students have become professional belly dancers or teachers in their own right.

Katerina is known for fun, motivating and challenging classes, in depth breakdown of movement, and musical expression and emotion in the dance.
