LotusFlower, born in Madagascar and raised in Florida, discovered dance in high school by joining a dance troupe that performed at pep rallies and football games during half-time. After graduating from college, LotusFlower moved to L.A. to experience a new environment.
At the Renaissance Fair in San Bernardino, she saw a belly dance show and was intrigued with the dancer's snakelike movements to the music and the beautiful costumes. This appreciation of the dance inspired LotusFlower to take her first belly dance class with Middle Eastern Dance instructor and performer Fahtiem.
Besides performing solo at various venues, LotusFlower performs regularly with award winning belly dance troupe, Leela with SaloméJihad. They are well known in the belly dance community for their creativity and beautifully executed performances. Her performance highlights include: Arabia Exotica 2002: The Wild Heart Speaks, WorldFest 2002, Cairo Carnivale, Zambra Gitana, The She Show, Alex Theater, Higley's Coffee House, Arabia Exotica: Enchanted Tales from the Leopard Lotus 2001, with live music acts BrainGarden, Blue Girl and Mutaytor.
LotusFlower says, "When I belly dance, it allows me to let go, to express my sensuality, my creativity and my inner beauty in a positive way. Also when I'm dancing, I love to see the smile on people's faces. This brings me happiness where I know that person is enjoying the dance."
LotusFlower's favorite belly dance fantasy is dancing on a platform by the ocean underneath a huge canopy decorated Moroccan style with candles on tables creating an Arabian Night.
