MARZUE, Male Bellydancer

MARZUE has been dancing for about six years and performs at Santa Barbara area restaurants and events. He began dancing as a student of the well-known JUDEEN, who introduced him to Egyptian village dance, in which he specializes. The pictured Saidi Stick Dance (Tahteeb) is from Upper Egypt; its origins lie in the competition stick fighting practiced in the villages. Later, the movements became more stylized for stage performance.

MARZUE is a member of the UCSB Middle East Ensemble, playing the Arabic dumbek (tabla) and daff (large tambourine) in their percussion section.

MARZUE may be contacted at: Post Office Box 6642, Santa Barbara, CA 93160.

Belly Dancer Sketch Card Art

Some of you may be aware that I have been doing lots of Art and Art related projects over the past few years. In fact, I now sign my name Penny Lee StewArt!

I recently painted 25 sketch cards of belly dancers, 2.5 x 3.5 inches in size. They are very collectible and make great gifts.

Please visit my Daily Paint Works Gallery if you are interested in purchasing. Thanks.
