Tahiya, Bellydancer and Henna Artist
Tahiya is currently available for events in Southern California
and is offering classes in the LA area. She is also a skilled henna artist and designer of bellydance costumes.
With over 20 years of dance experience and a background of jazz, tap, and ballet, her dancing is infused with a unique flavor which allows her to be
comfortable in many different styles of Middle Eastern
dancing.
Tahiya began her belly dance journey with
Ansuya in 1999 and was a member of Ansuya's
Los Angeles Yaleil! troupe for several years before
moving to New Zealand.
While living in New Zealand,
Tahiya danced with local Wellington troupe "The
Sisters of Sindbad," dancing at many local events
and parties such as the Cuba Street Carnival and the
Medievel Faire and practicing her choreography skills.
An architect by day, Tahiya puts her creative talents
to work and designs and makes many of her own costumes,
including bras, belts & headbands.
Belly Dance Classes:
Tahiya has taken over the beginning and advanced classes
at the YWCA in Santa Monica that were taught previously
by fellow Yaleil members Olu and Akasha.
